To the left I have provided some direct links to specific information I thought would be useful to you. Listed below are websites that provide opportunities for your child to practice skills or locate information. Please check back often for additions to the list.
The crayon icon indicates these websites are best for students in kindergarten to second grade. The backpack icon indicates these websites are best for students in third grade or higher. Websites that have material for any age elementary student use the book icon.
The national library of virtual manipulatives provides visual representation of math concepts that many students require. You will find activities for students from kindergarten through high school.
Cherry Carl is a retired teacher and language arts specialist and has created a wonderful website for teachers and parents. You will find games, ideas for helping children learn to read, and printable word family books.
Math Playground provides games, printable worksheets, and short videos to explain ideas and procedures.
Cool Math games provide quality activities and the kind of repetition kids need to master their basic facts. Check out the "Math Lines" game...you won't be able to stop!

Have you ever needed help with your child's math homework? Here is a wonderful online dictionary with definitions, pictures and animation of more than 600 math words.
Reading Rockets has everything to help parents, children, and teachers learn more about reading. You will find articles, videos, Reading Rocket episodes aired on PBS, and activities for children to practice pre-reading and reading skills. Reading really is rocket science!
There are all kinds of calculators available on the Internet. Here is a site that some friends suggested would be a great addition to my parent page.
